They’re not faking with this one. No matter how cinematic a video may be, or how catchy a song is, the truth is the truth. In this case, the truth is that the socio-economic conditions for non-rich Americans lead to violence and paranoia. Between the perfectly rendered visual from Orbit DidIt & the melodic urgency of JPs’ lyrics the daily dangers of 5th Ward (and much of the country,) are perfectly captured. This is as much a snapshot of a time and place in America as it is a song. 5th Ward JP clearly has something to say, and we need to listen. His next project, Drip Tape is coming soon.
