Tree is a better rapper than Big Krit could ever hope to be, as a producer he’s like a Kanye West circa the first few albums, just with more talent and a better ear for music theory. Unfortunately, he’s also one of the realest people in the history of “urban” music and has never compromised his character, integrity, or willingness to speak out about what is wrong with our society. Professionally that has held him back, trust he beyond has the skills to pay the bills. He’s one of the few truly auto didactic producers who is also a true musician, unfortunately for his career, his refusal to sell out has somewhat hindered him. Fuck that shit though, he’s only gotten better as a musician and a person.

He’s also one of the few artists who truly invented a genre “Soul Trap” that a few years later is being highly copied in the midwest. After somewhat of a hiatus he’s released a few songs. Even if he never released another song I’ll always admire him for his devotion to his people and his city. He could of sold his soul, but instead he emerged morally stronger and more resolute in his cause. I admire that, that’s putting your mouth where your money is, not just to be cool but to be true to himself and extended family.
