5 Songs You Need to Hear

Houston, TX: Recently my email has been full of submissions and I want to try something a little bit different.

This list is 5 songs we were sent this week via our SubmitHub page. If you think you have some heat for DGB that is a good way to get us to hear your music. I really love discovering new music and these are 5 songs that stood out from the hundreds of submissions I received this week.

1. Young Menaxe – Billie Ocean

Young Menaxe is an Atlanta, GA based rapper who is clearly heavily influenced by ATL legends like Outkast, Jeezy, and T.I. He’s got a dope vibe to his music and this video was a nice change of pace from the usual trap records I have been getting sent.

2. Jag – Hood Pussy

South Central LA has been know for it’s legendary sound since before I was alive, and Priority Record’s artist Jag is keeping that Los Angeles sound alive. He is releasing a song every Friday leading up to the release of his debut album Dalton Ave which will be available everywhere on November 29th.

3. RAJAN – Might Be ft. Savv

I don’t even like Drake but there’s no denying that Canada has artists that have been dropping heat recently. Both RAJAN and Savv float effortlessly over this Eestbound produced banger. This song also has one of the more creative music videos that I’ve seen this year.

4. The Outfit, TX – Baby’nem ft. Landstrip Chip

I’m honestly tired of how slept on The Outfit, TX is at this point. The Dallas rap trio just released an album titled Fuel City yesterday and this GTMusick produced banger – Baby’nem ft. Atlanta’s Landstrip Chip is going to get played at every party I steal the aux chord at all weekend. Facts.

5. Jayd Ink – DarkSkin

Ok so normally we look for a more Southern Trap sound but this song really hit me. Jayd Ink is an R&B artist from Toronto that knows how to make some fucking good music. The way she got on this beat is totally mesmerizing and the visual really just takes the record to a whole new level of fire. I’m all about this.

So that’s it. These are five songs that are heat in their own way and they should all be put on repeat until whatever you listen to music on runs out of battery.
