Video: King Von “Demon”

Today, on what would have been King Von’s 27th birthday, he releases a special piece of content that he filmed a week before his passing. Unbeknownst to most, Von was always the creative eye behind conceptualizing and directing his cinematic music videos, and this “Demon” video is a perfect example of how great his creative mind worked. At the end of the video, his team weaved in a voice memo he sent to his video directors – it’s a beautiful pull-back-the-curtain reveal of the amazing mind he had.

When King Von began shooting “Demon,” he didn’t just sit back and let things unfold how everyone else wanted it to. In the detailed voice note at the end, we get a glimpse into how deeply involved Von was in the creative process of executing the visuals needed to bring justice to his chilling lyrics. Frequent collaborators Drew Filmed It and Blank Square Productions (“The Code” ft. Polo G, “Wayne’s Story,” and “Why He Told”) produced this video which features Von recalling the scarring effects of witnessing his friend’s death while portraying Von as the demon that was triggered within him after experiencing a tragic life changing event. All in all, the video expertly mirrors the song’s themes of street-savvy, loyalty, and trauma.
