Video: DCG Shun x DCG Bsavv “Jungle Life”

Drill music is universal, but we can’t forget where it all started! Back with a reminder of the energy and community that sparked the movement is Chicago’s DCG Brothers, a charismatic sibling duo composed of DCG Shun & DCG Bsavv. The brothers take you on a trip to their West Side neighborhood in their new video “Jungle Life,” the title track from their mixtape, Jungle Life, released in April. Featuring appearances from G Herbo, BIG30, B-Lovee, and frequent collaborator Msavv, Jungle Life is available everywhere via No More Heroes/Atlantic Records.

Over a bouncy, piano-heavy beat by JustSpvnk, Bsavv & Shun body the beat with iron-tough lyrics about swinging big sticks and rocking attention-grabbing ice that attracts the ladies. Their brotherly bond is a highlight on this heater, as the duo compete for your “best punchline” vote: “So many hog sticks in the whip, it looks like it’s a Luau,” spits Bsavv, while Shun adds, “I still ball some like Chris Paul/Gimme the ball, I want it, tip off.” Although you may catch the guys mobbing at a local playground with their homies in the No More Heroes-directed video, the guys make it clear that their words aren’t child’s play.

The teenaged DCG Brothers may seem relatively new, but both Bsavv and Shun have worked on their craft for years. Beginning their rap days at the start of Chicago’s groundbreaking drill boom, the duo built a decade-long artistic relationship based on family ties. Racking up millions of YouTube views, the brothers became known in Chicago for their vivacious personalities and boisterous bars. Shun and Bsavv captured national attention with their comedic quirks in “Mmhmmft. Msavv, receiving praise from Pitchfork
