Music Review | Slimelife Shawty, Jordan Hollywood, YTB Trench & Key Glock, Snupe Bandz

Slimelife Shawty — “Slatt Bizness”

Slimelife Shawty is a lifestyle rapper with a conversational flow. Lyrically, his bars have garnered the Atlanta upstart co-signs from the likes of Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and Young Thug. And you can’t argue with results, the Alamo Records signee has mainstream potential, but Slimelife’s rise in rap isn’t built off hype. He minds his own business. With “Slatt Bizness,” the ShotByWolf-directed visual brings Slime’s introspection to life. The song narrates his truth over keyed instrumentation, divulging what problems have contributed to Slimelife Shawty’s guarded bearing.

Jordan Hollywood — “The Ugly Song” with Timbaland

Jordan Hollywood releases new music in advance of his upcoming album, Only the Paranoid Survive. The Florida rapper links with super producer Timbaland for a bass-heavy single that’s both outlandish and equally entertaining. An homage to Bubba Sparxxx’s Timbaland-produced single “Ugly,” Jordan’s interpretation puts a creative spin on the early 2000’s classic for a new generation. The Austin McCraken-directed visual is a compelling display of Hollywood’s youthfulness and eye for creativity. It’s like a cinematic sequence filled with indecent remarks, good-humored teasing, and real in-your-face energy that aligns with Timbaland’s natural vitality.

Key Glock, Snupe Bandz — “Bandaid”

Paper Route EMPIRE rising stars Key Glock and Snupe Bandz release a trapped-out new visual. A standout single from last week’s compilation tape, PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi, “Bandaid” is Glock’s second video in two weeks, following the braggadocious “Mister Glock 2.” This video is an illustration of how Snupe and Glock make ends meet, moving like the mob with careful consideration about what lies ahead: more money. Glock’s Memphian drawl and Bandz’ cash-rich mentions support their label’s claim to the perpetual paper chase.

YTB Trench — “Toxicity”

YTB Trench is a flourishing talent out of the Young Stoner Life Records camp. His distinct cadence and natural ear for melody has made the Atlanta phenom a standout rapper in the game. With the release of his debut project, Versatalien, Trench has officially arrived. “Toxicity,” directed by Cole Bennett, follows the passion-filled crooner down a path of deliberate musing. Turning the tables on an attempted robbery saved YTB Trench’s life that day, but the ultimate cost of freedom is an ongoing struggle that plagues our everyday existence.
