Video: Tru Life “When I Want”

New York Lower East Side legend Tru Life recently announced his first project in 11 years titled “Walking On Water.” Before his rap career was cut short by an 8 year jail stint, Tru Life was considered a cult hero in NYC rap circles, signing to Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope as a teenager and was later courted by Jay Z to sign with Roc-A-Fella. Today,
Tru shares the video for “When I Want,” from Walking On Water, a track that celebrates his joy of freedom to do what he wants, when he wants.

In the video, Tru takes his lady on a date and spins a clever series of boastful rhymes while keeping things lighthearted when he says, “Never joined a gang, bitch I rep that LES, yeah/Ate the p****y in my bulletproof vest.”
