This past Thursday on the eve of Derez DeShon’s most-anticipated project to date, Pain 2, we sat down with the Southside Atlanta native to talk about his new album and his new-found success. We asked him if he still gets anxious before releasing new music, how much his life has changed this year since he earned his first platinum record (“Hardaway”), if he felt pressure to repeat that success, his favorite song on the new album (“Lately”), his expectations for the album versus previous releases, and taking his time with this project (says he recorded over 100 songs for it).
